How to Apply to the MS - Analytics Track

All application materials should be submitted electronically through the Online Admissions System. Admission decisions will be communicated to applicants using this system. Your admission decision will be emailed to you after your application has been reviewed by the ISyE program and your transcripts and any credentials have been authenticated by the Graduate School.

A minimum undergraduate grade point average of (GPA) of 3.0 on a four-point scale is the preferred standard for admission. Students whose native language is not English are required to submit scores from one of the following English proficiency examinations: TOEFL, MELAB, or IELTS.

Admission Prerequisites

Engineering-level calculus. Undergraduate probability and statistics. Proficiency in computer programming. If it is not clear from your academic transcripts that you have met these prerequisites, then you should provide explanation in your personal statement.

Graduate Record Exam (GRE)

The GRE General Test is required for students applying to the Analytics track. We do not impose a specific minimum GRE score.

English Language Tests

English language test scores (TOEFL, MELAB, or IELTS) are required for applicants whose native language is not English. Information about minimum score requirements can be found at the Graduate School's English Language Proficiency Page.

Application Deadline for Fall Semester Admission

Applicants for fall semester admission to the MS Analytics Track should submit their applications by February 15 of the year in question. Applications received after February 15 will be reviewed for admission if space is available.

Application Deadline for Spring Semester Admission

The MS Analytics Track does not offer spring admissions.

Personal Statement

Online Admissions System

The Personal Statement should be uploaded in the "Materials" tab of the Online Admissions System.

In the "Materials" tab of the Online Admissions System, the following items are optional: Diversity Statement, Extenuating Circumstances Statement, Resume/CV, Writing Sample, Description of Research.

Transcripts

Online Admissions System

Unofficial transcripts or academic records should be uploaded directly to the online application through the "Academic History" tab. Please do not mail in paper copies of your transcripts, there is no need for official transcripts or academic records for initial review. If you are admitted, the University will then request official copies of this material.

Three Letters of Recommendation

Online Admissions System

Letters are not required for the Analytics Track of the MS program, but are highly recommended.

Paper copies can be accepted, but you are strongly encouraged to submit letters via the Online Admissions System. If you choose to submit paper copies, they should be mailed to Mr. John Gardner, Mechanical Engineering, 111 Church Street SE, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55455, USA

Your scoresheet (or a screenshot) should be uploaded directly to the Online Admissions System under the "Materials" tab as "Graduate Program Additional Material". Please do not mail in paper copies of your scoresheet. ETS does not send copies of the scores to the program. If you are admitted, the University will then request official copies of this material.
